Steinberg Cubase 4. Steinberg Cubase Studio 4 and Steinberg Nuendo - The best audio soft for music production! Free version of ACID - A limited version of the popular ACID software. I would consider this freeware, it's limited to 8 tracks but it's a great program. Mixxx Dj Software - Free program you can use as a virtual turntable setup to DJ songs live or in the studio. Music Studio Producer - Free studio application that covers most common home studio tasks. Also includes a piano roll, sequencer, mixer and more. Audacity - Well known freeware cross-platform sound editor. A very popular and well put together program, I don't know many musicians or geeks either for that matter that don't have this program. HammerHead - HammerHead Rhythm Station is a TR-909 like drum sequencer used to create drum and percussion tracks for any music genre. Reaper - A pretty cool little program, little being the key word. This little guy weighs in at 2.4 MB! Alot like ACID with less features.

Steinberg Cubase 4. Steinberg Cubase Studio 4 and Steinberg Nuendo - The best audio soft for music production! Drumbox - Simple freeware sound sample sequencer. Not a bad little tool for creating drum loops. You can't loop loops or anything but you can create your own drum loops for use in other software. PowerTab Editor - A very useful program for creating guitar tablature. Includes many advanced features and supports popular tablature symbols. PowerTab Library - Excellent management program for collecting and sharing PowerTab tablature. Many websites offer tabs in the PowerTab format, making this program a must for an organsized library of tabs. Digital Guitar Tuner - This is a very simple, accurate and useful guitar tuning program. It uses your guitar input to measure the frequency and has a few advanced features. Includes 27 tuning variations. MDA VST Effects - 1.2 MB - Pack of 30 VST effects. This pack has alot of basic effects that are usually alot more useful than default software effects. The Kick - 0.5 MB - A very simple, useful tool for making kick drums samples. Pling - This is one of my all time favorite freeware VSTi's. Create very natural sounding plucked string sounds. Beat Morpher - 1.2 MB - Gradually morph a beat over a series of bars. Usefull tool.
